Kevin G. Houlihan, 43, of Lincoln, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Born in Norwood, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of Frank and Mary (Grant) Houlihan. He had resided in Lincoln for the past 15 years, previously living in Cumberland.

Kevin was a 2005 graduate of Rhode Island college, where he was recognized in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He worked for Ambient Sound, serving as an AV Operations Manager at the Amica Convention Center, where he dedicated 21 years of service. Through his work, Kevin was part of countless events throughout Rhode Island and beyond, handling sound, microphones, staging, and production with quiet confidence and professionalism. His work brought him behind the scenes of major public events, conventions, comic-cons, home shows, political gatherings, and celebrity appearances.

Among the many highlights of his career, Kevin had the opportunity to set up and personally handle microphones for then-President Barack Obama during a 2014 fundraiser in Newport, where he met the President and was personally thanked by him after the speech. He also assisted with sound and microphone needs for Nancy Pelosi, worked events featuring Bob Woodward, helped Regis Philbin on and off stage during an appearance in 2016, and handled production for an event featuring former President Bill Clinton. For Kevin, these were not simply work assignments; they were memorable experiences that reflected both the trust placed in him and the pride he took in his craft.

Creative, talented, and deeply passionate about storytelling, Kevin was also a local filmmaker whose work reflected his sharp wit, imagination, and love of cinema. For many years, he was a regular competitor in the 48 Hour Film Project, where he earned multiple awards, including Best Comedy. His filmmaking achievements culminated in winning Best Film, which led to an international screening in Amsterdam in March of 2020.

Those who loved Kevin will remember his lovable personality, quick sense of humor, and the joy he brought into every room. He was an avid cinephile with a deep appreciation for film, music, creativity, and the art of a well-told story. Whether behind a camera, behind a soundboard, or simply among friends and family, Kevin had a way of making every moment more memorable. His warmth, humor, and originality left a lasting impression on his family, friends, co-workers, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Besides his parents, Kevin is survived by his brothers, Sean Houlihan of Walpole, MA, and Ryan Houlihan of Providence. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and co-workers.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Kevin's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 5 to 8 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11 AM in St. Joseph Church, 92 Hope Street, Providence, RI. Burial will be private.
