Karen R. Hull, formerly of Avon, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Born and educated in Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. Hull and Rita P. (Morgan) Hull. Karen had been a resident of Cumberland for the past 27 years.

Karen dedicated her life to caring for others, retiring in 2020 after a long and distinguished career as a surgical intensive care unit nurse, specializing in cardiothoracic patients toward the end. In her 40s, she attended law school and earned her Juris Doctor. She went on to advocate tirelessly for fellow nurses facing legal disputes, often providing support on a pro bono basis. She was a proud partner of the law firm she helped found, Estrich, Lepardo & Hull located in South Boston.

She was an avid animal lover and activist, and her home was always open to those in need—both two and four-legged. Karen lovingly leaves behind her two cherished cats, Ducky and Primrose. Many of her grandchildren spent time living with "Nana Karen," creating lifelong memories. She was also a devoted reader and history enthusiast throughout her life.

She is survived by her three daughters: Tracey Angeles of Santa Clarita, CA; Jennifer Morgan and her husband Eric of Providence, RI; and Stephanie Gillan and her husband Glenn of Carver, MA.

Karen was the proud nana of Ryan Angeles and John Catalano of Santa Clarita, CA; Aidan Blough of Cumberland, RI; Hannah DesJardins of Carver, MA; Samuel Moore and his wife Audra of Rolla, MO; Tess Moore and her fiance Marc Nelson of Lakeville, MA; and Emma Gillan and her fiance Joaquin Matthews of Middleborough, MA. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandson, Thomas DesJardins of Carver, MA.
In addition, she is survived by her two sisters, Kathleen DuLong of Avon, MA, and Nancy Colaruso of North Easton, MA.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Georgia DeResta and Jayne Harvey for your kindness, friendship, and caring of mom up until the end.

And the biggest heartfelt, WE LOVE you so much, to Susan Ridlen for all of the years of friendship, laughter, and love that  you and mom shared.  We are glad you were with us until the end.  You brought us all comfort.
