Obituary

Ms. Juanita Ortiz, 73, of Lincoln, formerly of Puerto Rico, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in her home. Ms. Ortiz was married to Robert J. Brousseau for 24 years and 163 days, from 1995 to 2019, without ever having any children.

Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Rafael Ortiz and Barbara Matos. She attended the University of Puerto Rico before moving to New York and finally making Rhode Island her new home state in 1987.  Ms. Ortiz had resided in Lincoln for over 10 years.

In addition Ms. Ortiz is survived by two sisters, Zenida and Margarita; her only niece, Darleen; nephews, Gabriel & Darnell; and great nephew Ethan - all of whom reside in the New York metropolitan area.

Ms. Ortiz was a devout Christian.  She was known to partake in private prayer quite often and sing church hymns quietly to herself.  Through her positivity, always found a way to exude a kind and upbeat demeanor. Always lighting up the room wherever she went.  Ms. Ortiz held fast and strong during this last journey to the end. Her unwavering faith can only be characterized by the following verses which reminds us of her love in the Lord and family; personal courage, strength and perseverance to conquer anything put forth in her path.

Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".

2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power , and of love and a sound mind".

2 Corinthians 5:7 "For we live by faith, not by sight."

Ms. Ortiz enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and was a cat lover.

In closing, her everlasting presence will be felt amongst her loved ones, friends and neighbors.
