Joseph O. Morin III, 76, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 15, surrounded by the love of his family after a long and heroic battle with cancer. Steadfast in his faith and grace-filled until the very end, Joe met his final days with the same strength, humility, and love that defined his life.

Born in Woonsocket, Joe was the eldest son of the late Joseph Morin Jr. and Theresa (Bacon) Morin. He spent much of his life in Woonsocket and Cumberland before settling in Pascoag where he resided for the past 10 years. A man of deep conviction and gentle spirit, Joe's life was guided by faith, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing what was right – never what was easy – even when no one was watching.

Prior to meeting his late wife of nearly 37 years, Lillian (Gaetano) Morin, Joe attended Our Lady of Providence Seminary, an early reflection of his devotion to God that would remain central throughout his life. After high school Joe learned the carpentry trade from his father, a lifelong carpenter, which helped lay the foundation for a career marked by skill and craftsmanship. In the 1980s, Joe played an integral role in the massive restoration of the historic Slater Mill water wheel, a project that highlighted his carpentry expertise and respect for history. He later went on to become an architectural draftsman through the Hall Institute in Pawtucket and soon after started his own carpentry business, which he operated for nearly 30 years.

Even in his retirement, Joe's hands and mind were never still. While working part-time at Window World and Cabinet Gallery, he continued to take on small handyman projects and drafted plans for larger projects. Most recently, he drew plans for his family's lakehouse in Maine, a now treasured part of the home's history. Joe found joy and peace in a good book, time on the beach during many summers on Cape Cod or during a tropical getaway to Aruba or Punta Cana, and enjoying live music, a lifelong passion that began when he was a drummer in his 20s.  Most recently, Joe was a devoted member of Glad Tidings Community Church in Chepachet where he was a beloved member of the Men's Ministry.

Joe's greatest joy in life was his family. To be loved by Joe was to feel as though you had all the love in the world. He had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen and valued, and there was not a single person he met whom he did not leave an impression on. He was a bright light reflecting the faith that guided him and the love he so freely gave to all.

Besides his late wife, Joe leaves behind his cherished life partner and "sweetheart", Lisa Robinson, of more than 10 years. He's survived by his loving children: Lisa (Morin) Boyle and her husband, Tim, of Cumberland, and Stephen Morin of Burrillville. He was an adoring grandfather – fondly known as "Boppa" – to Meghan (Boyle) DeRita and her husband, Alex; Caroline (Boyle) Menice and her husband, Jake; Tague Boyle, Matthew Morin, Olivia Morin, Michael Morin, Cameron Robinson, and Grayson Fournier. He was blessed to be a "Great Boppa" to Mason DeRita and Clark Menice.

Joe is also survived by his siblings: Denise (Morin) Beaudette and her husband, Paul; Rachel (Morin) Larochelle and her husband, Marc; Marcel Morin; Claire (Morin) Griffin and her husband, Mike; and Carol Morin. He was predeceased by his siblings: Paul Morin, Estelle (Morin) LaForge, and Jeanne Morin. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends – all of whom were touched by his kind heartedness.

A Mass celebrating Joe's life and enduring legacy will be held on Saturday, January 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Glad Tidings Community Church, 111 Victory Highway, Chepachet. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
