Joseph Goes, 62, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in RI Hospital, Providence.

Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary V. (Nobrega) Goes Jr. Joe was a lifelong resident of Central Falls.

During his late 20s into this 40s, Joe was an active member at a few Duck Pin Bowling Leagues here in RI: Legion Bowling in Cranston and Town Hall Lanes in Johnston. Joe also acquired a love and skill for shooting pool, where he participated in a local league that played at Snookers in Providence. Joe had an abundance of interests over the years: traveling to see the Cowboys and Yankees, trips to New Orleans, Cancun, Brewing and Batching his own Beer, Fantasy Sports, Wrestling, shopping at the outlets and recently curating a collection of watches and jewelry.

For over 38 years Joe was employed by the United States Postal Service. He was a fill-in Postmaster at a few locations during that time: Harrisville, RI & Mattapoisett, Ma. He also was a part-time employee at The Blackstone Supply Company in Providence, RI.

He is survived by his sister, Bella Marie Goes of Central Falls, his brothers: Anthony "Tony" Goes of Central Falls, and Mario Goes of San Francisco. His nephew, Anthony J. Goes, and his great-niece, Lillian Claire.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Joe's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
