CENTRAL FALLS

Jose Alberto Ferreira, 77, of Central Falls, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Miriam Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. He was the husband of Ilidia (Dias) Ferreira, and they had been married for the past 51 years.

Born in Cativelos, Gouveia, Portugal, he was the son of the late Alberto and Ana (Coelho de Albuquerque) Ferreira.  He moved to this country in 1976, settling in Central Falls where he resided for most of his life.

Mr. Ferreira was employed at Northeast Cable Company for over 30 years until his retirement.

Jose was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  He was a dedicated and passionate Sporting Soccer Club fan.  He enjoyed gardening, his daily walks, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with this family.

In addition to his beloved wife Ilidia, he leaves his children, Luis Ferreira and his wife Lisa of Swansea, Steven Ferreira and his wife Lisa of Cumberland; his sister, Encarnacao of Portugal; his four grandchildren, Sr. Sara Cecelia Ferreira of Louisana, Luis Ferreira of Providence, Jayden Ferreira of Cumberland and Devin Ferreira of Cumberland; and his niece, Selina.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jose's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.
