Obituary

Jose DeJesus, 81, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Dias)DeJesus. They have been married for the past 45 years.

Born in Velosa, Celorico da Beira, Portugal, he was the son of the late Francisco and Maria DeJesus. Jose came to this country in 1979, settling in Pawtucket.

He was an avid Benfica fan, and enjoyed gardening, but most of all spending time with his family, especially when he had the opportunity to sing and dance with his grand-daughters.

He was employed by Slater Dye, Pawtucket for many years, working along side his brothers until his retirement.

Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Natalia Marisa Botelho and her husband Manny of Seekonk. His two grand-daughters: Olivia and Selena Botelho, two brothers: Candido DeJesus of Pawtucket, and Joao DeJesus of Portugal, along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late: Inacio DeJesus and Antonio DeJesus.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jose's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, followed by a prayer service at 6:30 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will be held in the Town Cemetery of Velosa, Portugal.
