CUMBERLAND

Jose "Joe" Albuquerque, 77, of Cumberland passed away on Thursday August 14, 2025 at the Miriam Hospital, Providence.

Born in Torre de Tavares, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio and Arminda Albuquerque.  He moved to this country in 1961, settling in Pawtucket and later moving to Cumberland.

He was the owner of Joe's Bar on Jones Street in Cumberland.

He was a dedicated and passionate Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing SUECA with customers as his bar.  He had a sweet tooth, and was loved by all who knew him.  He will be deeply missed.

He leaves his brother Daniel Albuquerque and Alzira Albuquerque; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Elza Tenreiro.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Joe's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 9 AM to 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at MT. ST. MARY CEMETERY IN PAWTUCKET.
