John H. Sharples, 87, passed away in the Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation, North Kingstown. He was the husband of Maureen M. (Freitas) Sharples. They were married for the past 65 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas and Edna (Young) Sharples. John resided in Attleboro for the past year, previously residing in Cumberland for over 45 years.

He enjoyed working with tools and was an avid golfer.

He was the Vice President of Medtech Inc., of Ashland, MA for 15 years, until his retirement. He previously was employed for Apex, of Pawtucket and Bruce Diamond Inc., of Attleboro.

Besides his wife he is survived by his three daughters; Lisa Miller and her husband David of Florida; Tracey Zanfardino and her husband Tony of Cumberland; and Melinda Lima and her husband Lenny of Attleboro. One sister Marilyn Lowe of Fort Worth, TX. His six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren along with two nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Michael O'Donnell.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland.
