John Mark Kuenzler, 80, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born on September 9, 1945, in Paterson, New Jersey, John was the son of the late Edwin and Edythe Kuenzler. He was a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired in 2019 from ARC Advisory Group in Dedham, Massachusetts.
John was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He served as a lieutenant on active duty, later retiring as a captain, and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
John lived for many years in Cumberland, Rhode Island, before retiring to Bonita Springs with his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilyn J. Kuenzler (née Moy).
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Kathryn (Dennis) Racke of Leesburg, Virginia; his grandchildren, Daniel Stover of Denver, Colorado, and Jenna Stover of Sterling, Virginia; and his brother, David (Diane) Kuenzler of Montvale, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Kuenzler.
John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his distinguished military service, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 12 NOON in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI.
In lieu of flowers, John would have appreciated donations in support of BPDCN leukemia research. Contributions may be made payable to MD Anderson Cancer Center. In the memo portion of the check, please include: Dr. Pemmaraju's BPDCN Leukemia Research.
