Rev. Dr. Jed Griswold, aged 78, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at Hope Health in Providence. Born in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of the late Reverend Walter H. and Louise (Harrington) Griswold. Jed resided in Cumberland for over 20 years.

He was a published author, a retired college administrator, a retired minister, and a Professor of Psychology, holding graduate degrees from Duke University and Rhode Island College. Jed had a continuing interest in providing educational and organizational consulting in New England.

In addition to his professional achievements, Jed had a lifelong passion for writing children's stories, mystery novellas, and historical fiction. He also enjoyed playing an extra in movies.

Jed is survived by his older brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Frank and Donna Griswold, and a caring extended family of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved cats, Freud and Jung.

An informal celebration of his life will be held at Four Corners Community Chapel, 200 Angell Road, Cumberland, Rhode Island, on May 31 at 10 a.m.
