Joe Salgado, 73, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022. He was the husband of Ana Maria Salgado.

Born in Portugal, he was the son of the late Carlos and Francisca Salgado. He came to this country in the early 70's, settling in Cumberland.

He served proudly in the Portuguese military.

Joe was an avid fisherman and musician. He and his wife had a band, playing in various local venues including the Our Lady of Fatima and the Lusitania feast's.

He was employed at the former Osram Sylvania, formerly Corning Glass, and GTE, Central Falls for many years until his retirement.

Besides his wife he is survived by his two sons, Carlos C. Salgado and his wife Karen DiGregorio of Cumberland and James C. Salgado and his husband Michael S. Whitman of Mount Vernon, ME., his two sisters, Grace Texeira and Rosa Silva and one brother Zeca Salgado all of Portugal.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland.
