Joaquim "Jack" F. Pinto, 86, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Shea) Pinto, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Esmolfe, Portugal, Jack was the son of the late Luiz and Aida Pinto. In 1967, he emigrated to the United States, where he made his home in Cumberland and built a life centered around family, hard work, and faith.

Jack was a dedicated laborer and a proud member of the International Laborers Union, Local 271. His work ethic and commitment to his craft were admired by all who knew him.

A devoted communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Jack found great joy in his faith. He was an avid hunter and took pride in tending to his vegetable garden, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his family. His love for them was evident in everything he did, and his presence will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Jack is survived by his loving children, Anne Marie Pinto of Attleboro and David Anthony Pinto of Cumberland; his brother, Antonio Pinto of Attleboro; his cherished grandchildren, Danielle Pelland and Matthew Pelland, both of Attleboro; and his adored great-grandson, Rahmi. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends in Portugal. Jack was predeceased by his brothers, John Pinto and Manuel Pinto.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to celebrate Jack's life with a visitation on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 9 to 11 AM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home, with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
