Joaquim F. Miranda, 84, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Rosa (da Costa) Miranda. They have been  married for the past 62 years.

Born in Porto, Portugal, he was the son of the late Aurelio and Lucilia (Freitas)Miranda. He came to this country 1978 settling in Central Falls.

He enjoyed shopping, food and collecting sailboats, CB radio equipment, and soccer collectibles, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his large family.

Besides his wife he is survived by his three daughters: Ana Miranda of Pawtucket, Almerinda Santos, and Helena Miranda both of Central Falls. His six grandchildren: Liana Felton, Andrea Breton, Janna Miranda, Miranda Santos, Kyle Santos, and Ariel Miranda. His four great-grandchildren: Milly, Shawn, Zaidyn, and Dacian, and a sister Ines Mendes of Portugal. He was the brother of the late Mario Miranda.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Joaquim's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place  Memphis, TN, 38105.
