CUMBERLAND

Joaquim F. DaSilva, 60, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Margaret C. (Maia) DaSilva, and they had been married for the past 38 years.

Born in Porto, Portugal, he was the son of the late Maria da Conceicao Lopes DaSilva and the late Abilio F. DaSilva.

Mr. DaSilva was employed as machine operator for the TE Connectivity of Medway, MA for the past 7 years. He was previously employed at Texas Instruments over 30 years.

He enjoyed watching soccer and was a passionate Sporting and Patriots fan. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Lusitana Club.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his son, Andrew DaSilva of Cumberland; his daughter, Amanda DaSilva of Davis, CA; his two brothers Luis F. DaSilva and his wife Olga of Cumberland and Dr. Manuel DaSilva and his wife Ann Marie of Narragansett; along with several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Joaquim's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM and continue on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
