Joan K. Insana, 72, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, surrounded by her family at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and is survived by her only daughter Shannon Insana, her husband Donny Ariel and their two children Magnus Ariel, 10, and Rosemary Ariel, 6, of Brooklyn, New York.

Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Joan was the daughter of the late John and Barbara (Creighton) Tryhubczak. She was the eldest of her six siblings John Tryhubczak (predeceased) and his wife Debbie Tryhubczak of Roseville, CA, Jane O'Keefe and her husband Brian of Woonsocket, Jill Lefebvre and her husband David of North Smithfield, Joel Tryhubczak and his wife Terry of Scituate, and James Tryhubczak and his partner Kathleen Petzold of Cumberland.

Joan was deeply involved with her beloved extended family and was committed to spending as much time as possible with her nieces and nephews Jillian Zeilstra, Nicholas O'Keefe, Julia Lefebvre, Audra Fox, Karissa Lefebvre, Jacob Tryhubczak, Jonathan Tryhubczak, Ethan Tryhubczak and Victoria Petzold, as well as her many young great nieces and nephews.

Joan resided in Cumberland for most of her life. She loved to cook and spend time with her family, especially during the holidays. She remained extremely close to her siblings her entire life, and they shared an enviable bond. She was an Ultrasonographer for the majority of her career, working at several hospitals and doctor's offices throughout Rhode Island.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Joan's Life Celebration, beginning with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 9:00AM to 11:30AM. A Prayer Service will be held at 11:30AM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will be private.
