Jeanne L. Mathis, 75,  of North Smithfield, RI  passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Jack Mathis, with whom she shared many wonderful years.

Born in Blue Springs, MO she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Naomi (Green) DeWitt.  She resided in Rhode Island for the past six years, previously residing in Canton, CT.

Jeanne found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid walker, often taking in the beauty of nature during her daily strolls. A talented amateur painter, she expressed her creativity through vibrant works of art. She was also a dedicated sports fan, cheering passionately for both Providence College and UConn basketball.

She built a dedicated career in the Claims Department at The Hartford Insurance Company, where she was respected for her hard work and kindness.

Jeanne was a loving mother to Kenna Richard and her husband Frank of Cumberland.  She is also survived by her brother John DeWitt of  Wichita, KS.

Her services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland.
