CUMBERLAND

Jeanne M. (Petrin) Carter, 96, of Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.  She was the wife of the late Edward F. Carter.

Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late  Armand and Alda A. (Beauregard) Petrin.   She resided in Cumberland for most of her life and most recently at Kennedy Manor in Woonsocket.

Mrs. Carter dedicated her life to the care of her family as a homemaker.

Jeanne was a communicant of the former St. Patrick Church, Cumberland.  She was a member of the Cumberland Senior Center, St. Aidan Senior Center, the Ralf Holden Happy Seniors and was a spiritual advisor for the St. Patrick Senior Club.

She leaves her daughter, Diane Campbell of Virginia; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also leaves her nieces, Beth Levesque and Linda Allen as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James Carter.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jeanne's  Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 9 AM to 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 10 AM.   Burial will follow at RI Veteran Cemetery, Exeter.
