Obituary

CUMBERLAND

Jeanne Bazinet, 95, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. She was the devoted wife of the late Norman Bazinet, with whom she shared 72 loving years of marriage.

Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Hemond) Gouin. A 1949 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Central Falls, Jeanne spent more than 60 years in Cumberland, having previously lived in Pawtucket and Central Falls.

Jeanne's greatest joy in life was her family. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for her husband and children and later took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She created a home filled with love, kindness, and warmth, and her family was always at the center of everything she did. Her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion, and selfless nature will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Jeanne enjoyed baking, crocheting, and working on puzzles. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially when spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Norman, she was predeceased by her son, Paul J. Bazinet.

She is survived by her children, Dennis J. Bazinet and his wife, Mariann, of Franklin, Massachusetts; Elaine M. Muto and her husband, Jeff, of Smithfield; and Robert J. Bazinet and his wife, Sandra, of Smithfield, her daughter-in-law, Charo Bazinet, of New Mexico. She also leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanne's family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with Norman, the love of her life, and her beloved son, Paul.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jeanne's Life Celebration. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road (Route 122), Cumberland. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial afterward at Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Antoine Residence - Special Care Unit, who took exceptionally great care of both Norm & Jeanne.
