Janice Kendall, 67, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in the Philip Hulitar, Hope Health Hospice Center, Providence. She was the wife of Roy Avery. They have been married for the past 43 years.

Born in Waltham, MA, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Madeline (Poore) Kendall. Janice resided in Cumberland for the past 30 years, previously residing in Oakham, MA.

Janice was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend. She loved simple things like going to the beach, cooking up Sunday family meals, and throwing awesome parties for her loved ones. She and her husband Roy were big fans of watching American Idol and rooting for the Boston Red Sox together. They often hung out at Top of the Bay and Iggy's, enjoying tasty seafood with friends. Their Fourth of July parties with fireworks were legendary, and she was always the "Hostess with the Mostest". She also loved dancing to music and spending time with her grandkids and family most of all. We'll miss her big heart and happy spirit dearly.

Alongside her husband, she is survived by her children: Nichola Kendall, Deirdre Kendall, Jason Kendall, Jeffrey Kendall, and Roy Kendall all of Cumberland. Her two brothers; David Kendall and his wife Paulette of New Portland, ME., and Gary Kendall of Oakham, MA. Twelve grandchildren, one great grandson on the way along with several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend Claudia Oliver of South Berwick, ME.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Janice's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will be private.
