James was a member of the Moswansicut Driving Club and a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church
James A. Williams, 91, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2026 at The Holiday Retirement Home, Manville surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marie (Berry) Williams with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Howard Williams and Irene (Jalbert) (Williams) La Foe. He was the step-son of the late Carl La Foe. He resided in Lincoln for the past 27 years, previously residing in North Providence.
James entered the United States Navy during the Korean War era, serving our country faithfully until his honorable discharge.
Mr. Williams was a printer for many years and transported horses in his later years.
James was a member of the Moswansicut Driving Club and a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church. He enjoyed riding horses, motorcycles, and playing cards with family.

In addition to his beloved wife, he was also survived by his many nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law, Isaura Williams of East Providence. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Dionne Pearson, Marjorie Williams Bates, and Roger Williams.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to James's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
