Jacob "Jake" M. Whitford, 54, of Chepachet, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Hope Health in Providence.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Jake was the son of the late Arthur and Helen (Briggs) Whitford. He made Chepachet his home for the past 16 years, after previously living in Cranston.

Jake was employed in Information Technology for the State of Rhode Island for more than 17 years.

Outside of work, Jake truly found his joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved traveling, swimming, and spending peaceful days floating on Wakefield Pond. Camping trips, quiet nights by the campfire, and time spent outdoors brought him comfort and happiness.

He is survived by his siblings, Denise Whitford of North Providence, Clayton Whitford of Foster, Kevin Whitford of Scituate, and Jesse Whitford of Michigan; as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his longtime friend, Michael Lombardi of Johnston.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jake's Life Celebration, to be held with Visiting Hours on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road (Rt. 122), Cumberland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM in Holy Cross Church, 118 King Philip Street, Providence.
