Irene L. Castro, 90, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Virgilio Castro.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Emma L. (Carlson) Tierney. Irene resided in Lincoln for the past 23 years, previously residing in Cumberland.

Irene enjoyed traveling over the years, but most of all spending time with her family.

She was a legal secretary for Lawyers Title, Providence for many years.

She is survived by her son: Philip Castro and his wife Lucy of Lincoln, one grandson and two grand-daughters along with one great-grandson, and her sister, Lois Bennett of Ohio. She was the mother of the late Steven Castro.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Irene's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM, then continuing on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM in St. Paul Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
