Hunter Dean
Sande
Jan 1, 2003 — Jun 6, 2025
Cumberland
Hunter Dean Sande, 22, formerly of North Smithfield, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Johnston. Hunter will be remembered for his authenticity, kindness, intensity, and deep love for his family.
Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Kim J. (DeWire) Sande and David Sande of Oklahoma. He spent most of his life in North Smithfield and most recently resided in Cumberland.
Hunter was a 2021 graduate of North Smithfield High School, where he was a proud member of both the lacrosse and basketball teams. Following high school, he attended Plymouth State University before transferring to Bryant University, where he proudly earned his Bachelor's Degree in May 2025.
While in college, Hunter worked at New England Truck Solutions and later interned in the Internal Audit Department at CVS Health, where he was offered full-time employment as an auditor upon graduation.
Hunter had a great love for the outdoors—he enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, ATV riding, and hiking. He also had a passion for sports cars and spent much of his free time modifying his own. He dreamed of one day opening his own custom auto body shop.
He is survived by his sister, Grace Sande of Cumberland, formerly of North Smithfield; his maternal grandparents, James and Lucille (Tessier) DeWire of Cumberland; his aunt and uncle, Tracy and David Smith; his cousins, Danielle Smith of Cumberland, and Allison (Smith) Salvadore and her husband Andrew of Marlborough, MA. In addition, he leaves his father, David Sande, as well as many dear friends and extended family members.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Hunter's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, with Visitation from 9 AM to 11 AM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will follow at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Adoption RI, 290 W Exchange Street, Suite 100, Providence, RI 02903.
