ATTLEBORO

Gilberto S. Ferreira, 90, of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Augusta (Amaral) Ferreira.

Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal.  He immigrated to the United States in 1973, settling in Fall River before residing in South Attleboro for most of his life.

Mr. Ferreira was employed as a machine operator with Northeast Cable Company for many years until his retirement.

Gilberto took great pride in tending to his yard, garden, flowers, and cherished fig trees. He found equal joy in spending time with his family and friends, sharing many meaningful moments together. A dedicated member of Clube Juventude Lusitana, he enjoyed playing cards and formed lasting friendships within the community.

He leaves his two sons, Joe Ferreira and his wife Tina of North Attleboro, MA, and Paul Ferreira and his wife Christina of North Attleboro, MA; his daughter, Tina Pate of Attleboro, MA; his five grandchildren, Monica, Christopher, Michael, Nathan, and Aidan; and his great-grandchildren, Mateo, Lorenzo, and Julian. He also leaves his brother, Armando Ferreira of Portugal, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Fernanda Ferreira and was also predeceased by several siblings.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Gilbert's Life Celebration, to be held with visitation on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road (Rt. 122), Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
