BLACKSTONE, MA

Gene H. "Bud" LaPorte, 83, of Blackstone, MA, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.  He was the beloved husband of Claire C. (Tellstone) LaPorte, and they shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in Chazy Lake, NY, he was the son of the late Ezra and Delia (King) LaPorte.  He resided in Blackstone, MA for most of his life.

Mr. LaPorte was the owner of W & D Enterprise in Millville since 1978.

Bud was a communicant of the Divine Mercy Parish in Blackstone, MA.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and cooking.  He was a lifetime member of the Whitinsville Fish and Game Club.   Those who love him will always remember his quiet nature, and witty sense of humor, as well as the love he carried for his family.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, David G. LaPorte and his wife Erin of Millville, Denise L. Leclaire and her husband Daniel of Blackstone; his grandchildren, David and Alex LaPorte, Hannah and Nathan Leclaire; his great-granddaughter, Rylee; as well as several nieces and nephews.   He was the brother of the late Michael LaPorte, Wanda LaDuke and Elaine Moger.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bud's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 12:30 PM.
