Obituary

SEEKONK, MA

Gary Frances McHale, 71, of Seekonk, MA, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Hope Hospice, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the beloved husband of Susan J. (Ford) McHale and they had been married for the past 41 years.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Gary was the son of the late John McHale and Doris T. (Carufel) Bourassa. He resided in Seekonk for the past 36 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.

Gary was a highly skilled master toolmaker, proudly working in the manufacturing industry for over 45 years, most recently with Polytop. His craftsmanship, precision, and strong work ethic were a source of pride throughout his long career.

Gary's life was shaped by the passions that brought him joy, purpose, and connection. He took great pride in raising Racing Homer pigeons and Russian Tumblers, tending to them with the same patience and dedication he offered every part of his life. His love of classic automobiles shone through in the countless hours he spent restoring 1957–1959 Ford Fairlane retractables, appreciating both their craftsmanship and the satisfaction of bringing them back to life. Above all, Gary cherished the time he spent with his beloved family, finding his greatest happiness in their company and the memories they created together.

Above all else, Gary was devoted to his family. In addition to his wife, Susan, he leaves his loving children, Kyle McHale, Danielle McHale, and Jennifer McHale; his cherished grandchildren, Sayla, Davanee, Braxton, Bailey McHale, and Vea Almeida. He is also survived by his siblings, Lori Ferland, Elizabeth Lacroix, and Ann Marie Sirios; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late John McHale.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Gary's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Thursday, February 5, 2025 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 1 PM.  Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
