Obituary

Cumberland,

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Frederick Walter Josephson Jr, 81,of Cumberland RI. He passed with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Liebsch) Josephson. They have been married for the past 59 years.

Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Frederick W Josephson Sr and Margaret (Donahue) Josephson.

He was a proud US Marine veteran, who always embodied the Marine core values. In being a Marine, it is not just a profession, it is a lifestyle.

He was a dedicated member of the Cumberland Beagle Club, where he pursued his passion for hunting, capturing memories not only with a shotgun, but with his camera. His love for fishing was equally strong and led him to a position at Bass Pro Shops as an associate in the fishing department, where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

After an honorable discharge, he began his career in law enforcement, serving as a Lincoln Police Officer for seven years. Following his time with the Lincoln Police Department, he continued his service in the Rhode Island Army National Guard, while working full-time as a machinist at Federal Products for over 20 years, dedicating himself to his craft. Upon retiring from Federal Products, he embraced the hobbies and passions he loved most, cooking, fishing, and his family.

In addition to his wife,he is survived by his children:  Frederick W. Josephson III, his wife Deborah, Dawn Jones, Eric Josephson, his wife Lori Josephson. Also his grandchildren Carissa A. Tassone, Brittany E. Josephson, Abygail N. Josephson, Andrew Watt, and his great granddaughter Lilly A. Turner. His three sisters: Karen Grady of Lincoln, Nancy Gendron of Attleboro, and Lois Belanger of West Stuartstown, NH., along with his many nieces and nephews.

Fred will be remembered for his loving, caring, and goofy personality. He was a thick headed, stubborn Swede right to the end.
