Edwin W. Lindsay, 68, entered into eternal life Friday December 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in the RI Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Paula (Lewandowski) Lindsay. They have been married for the past 44 years.
Born in Hackensack, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Lindsay. Eddy resided in Cumberland for the past 34 years, previously residing in Garfield, NJ., and grew up in Teaneck, NJ.

Affectionately known throughout the town as "Coach Ed," he leaves behind a legacy of dedication and passion for youth sports. As a founding member of the CYSA Board and a beloved CYSA coach, Coach Ed's influence extended far beyond the soccer field. He was instrumental in shaping the lives of countless young athletes, fostering a love for the game and instilling values of teamwork and perseverance. His commitment to the community was further exemplified through his roles as a NCMS girls soccer coach and the CHS girls' assistant soccer coach, where he inspired and mentored many. Additionally, Coach Ed's contributions to the Western New England University's Board showcased his unwavering dedication to the development of sports programs. His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was employed by TNT Marketing/Division of Crossmark, Plano, TX., as the National Convenience Food Broker until his retirement in 2012.  He also served on several Boards: Board of Directors, TNT Marketing (1998-2010); International Executive Committee, Crossmark (2010-2012); Board of Trustees (2007-2013) and Executive Athletic Advisory Board (2012-2015) at Western New England University.

Eddy was elected to the Western New England University Hall of Fame in 2006, after his illustrious playing career - part of the 1974 NAIA National Championship 4th Place Team and also Team Captain and 1st Team All New England his Senior Year (1978).

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two loving children: Jillian Pullano and her husband Michael of Cumberland, and Kyle Lindsay and his wife Amber Koons of Providence. His two brothers: William Lindsay of Florida, and James Lindsay of Delaware. His three grandchildren: William and Clara Pullano and Eden Lindsay. He was the brother of the late Robert Lindsay.

He was a wonderful friend, loving husband and father, and a proud "Baba".  He will be in our hearts forever.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Eddy's Life Celebration, to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Services and Burial will be private.
