Dulce Flor
Peguero
Oct 6, 1943 — Aug 10, 2025
Pawtucket
Pawtucket
Dulce Flor Peguero, 81, of Pawtucket, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of the late Antonio Peguero.
Born in Salcedo, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Cristobal Tobias Gonzalez and the late Ovidia Maria Familia Gonzalez. She moved to this country in the 1970s, settling in New York City and later moving to Pawtucket, RI.
Mrs. Peguero was a dedicated mother and wife. She was a multi-talented woman who spent time as a seamstress, hairdresser, and entrepreneur. She ended her working career helping others as a CNA at the Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket, where she cared for residents with kindness, humor, love, and integrity for many years, until her retirement.
Dulce enjoyed tending to her garden, sewing clothes and bags for herself and others, and singing her way through life's joys and sorrows. Most of all, she loved spending time with her loud and loving family. She took life as it came, accepted and loved people as they were, and found joy in the simple things; like drinking a cup of coffee in the sun. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Arali Peguero of Pawtucket and Mayra Peguero-Bueno of Cranston; her siblings, Cristobal Gonzalez, Dorothy Gonzalez, Marina Fincher, Maria Teresa Gonzalez, and Estella Loyola; her five granddaughters, Mayrette Stonis, Chanelle Peguero, Asia Baez, Angelica Bueno, and Amalia Bueno; her great-grandchildren, Skye Stonis and the family's first baby boy who is still on the way. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Arlette Maria Peguero and sister of the late Rafael Tobias Gonzalez and Juan de Jesus Gonzalez.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Celebration of Dulce's life to be held with Visitation on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 NOON in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 12 NOON. Burial will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Rhode Island, 245 Waterman Street, #306, Providence, RI 02906, or the American Lung Association, 235 Promenade Street, Suite 125, Providence, RI 02908.
