NORTH PROVIDENCE

Doris R. Silva, 74, of North Providence, formerly of Pawtucket and Central Falls, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Miriam Hospital, Providence.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Rousseau) Marcotte. She has resided in North Providence for the past six years, previously residing in Pawtucket.

Mrs. Silva was a self-employed jewelry manufacturer.

Doris enjoyed listening to audio books, trips to the casino, but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her four beloved grandchildren.

She leaves her three daughters, Jennifer Dionne and her husband Thomas of North Providence, Stephanie Silva of Cumberland, and Amy Silva of Columbus, OH; her four cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Genesis, Paige and Corey. She also leaves her longtime companion of 27 years,  Dennis Poirier.  She was the sister of the late Ronald Marcotte and late former husband Manuel Silva.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Doris's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in the St. Margaret Church, Rumford.  Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
