Debra Lynn
Proulx
Dec 5, 1958 — Mar 1, 2023
Woonsocket
Debra Lynn Proulx of Woonsocket, RI, died of natural causes on March 1, 2023. She was 64 years old. Born on December 5, 1958, in Providence, RI, she was predeceased by her father, John Thibodeau, and mother, Marjorie (Fox) Green.
Debra was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a lover of reading and was often found relaxing with a cup of tea and good book. She loved laughing and sharing good conversation with her friends and family. She was a friend to animals, especially horses, dogs, and cats, and was a devoted pet parent to many animals over the years. Debra was a nature enthusiast. On any given day, no matter the season, she could be found at her beloved Goosewing Beach in Little Compton, RI, or Fogland Beach, in Tiverton, RI. Here she spent many a day collecting sea glass, shells, and building sandcastles with her daughter, her many nieces and nephews, and two cherished grandsons.
In life, Debra was an intelligent, loving, caring, and generous person. She was known to give anything she had to friends, family, or strangers in need. Her generosity of spirit was demonstrated through her choice to be an organ donor. Leaving this Earth as a hero, Debra's organ donation saved the life of a woman in need of a transplant on March 3, 2023. Debra's family is so proud of this exceptional benefaction. Debra's choice to be an organ donor gave her the opportunity to carry love to the world beyond her life on Earth.
Debra leaves behind her only daughter, Jessie Shea (Proulx), and son-in-law, Mike Shea, and her two precious grandsons, Brady and Carter Shea, all of Davidson, North Carolina. She leaves behind her brother, Gary Thibodeau, and sister-in-law Mary, of Cumberland, RI, along with her oldest brother Steven Thibodeau, and sister-in-law Laura, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her youngest brother, Lance Thibodeau, passed away on March 2, 2023, and leaves behind his wife and Debra's sister-in-law, Jan, of Indiana. Debra leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved uncle, Harold LeBeau, and his wife Rebecca, of Lincoln, RI. She also leaves behind her very special little Connor, of Woonsocket, RI, a friend's son to whom she was very close, along with many, many special friends who were family to her throughout recent and past years.
A Celebration of Debra's Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New England Organ Donor Services, 60 First Avenue, Waltham, MA, 02451.
