Debbie (Potter) Menard, 67, of Coventry, RI, formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 at Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. She was the devoted wife of the late Roger Menard, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Louise (Maurer) Potter. She resided in Coventry for the past 3 years, previously residing in North Carolina and Cumberland.
Debbie's greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her children, Carmen McCabe and her husband Kevin of North Grafton, MA and Jeremy Menard and his wife Kristen of Irmo, SC; who will always cherish her love and guidance. She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is also survived by her siblings, Susan Ribeiro of Virginia, Lynda Maurer of Providence, Raymond "Buddy" Potter of Florida, and Kimberly Roy of Florida. She was the sister of the late Karen Beland.
Her family and many friends will remember her for her warm heart, sense of humor, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. Debbie loved spending time with friends, going out to eat, and especially any holiday that brought her family together. She was known for trying make to people laugh, and for her love for her dogs Sherman and Abby.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Debbie's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 5 to 7 PM and continue on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the RI ASPCA, 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886 or to the American Heart Association, 1 State Street, Unit 200, Providence, RI 02908.
