David W. Curry, 80, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Nancy E. (Brownell) Curry.

Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late John and Winifred (Frigualt) Curry. David resided in Cumberland since 1983, previously residing in Pawtucket.

David was a US Air Force Veterans serving during the Vietnam War.
He was also a communicant of St. Aidan-St. Patrick Parish, Cumberland.

David was an avid traveler who embraced the adventure of visiting six of the seven continents, with a particular fondness for exploring Europe. His love of Star Trek and trains reflected his fascination with journeys of both imagination and real-world exploration. As a collector of coins and watches, he appreciated the beauty and history behind these timeless treasures. He also found joy in studying atlases, maps, and newspapers, indulging his curiosity about the world and its stories. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, whose love and companionship were at the heart of his life. His legacy of curiosity, passion, and love will be remembered fondly by those who knew him. David was a selfless person, always offering gifts and help to others without expectations of returns.

He was a Counseling Psychologist, employed by the Veterans Administration for 40 years until his retirement in 2002.

He leaves his son, Sean Hilton Curry and his husband James E. Hilton Curry of Cumberland and Shannon Magill and her husband James of Cumberland, his beloved grandson, Landyn Koppelmann of Cumberland. His brother Daniel Curry of Pawtucket along with two nephews. He was the brother of the late William Curry.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to David's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM and continue on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in the St. Aidan-St. Patrick Parish, 1464 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.   Burial with Military Honors will take place in RI Veterans Cemetery, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue, Suite 1802 New York, NY 10001.
