Daniel J. Brown, 68, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at home in Venice, FL. He was the husband of Anita C. (Whitman) Brown, they have been married for the past 20 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Trojan) Brown. Dan resided most of his life in Cumberland until moving to Venice more than 15 years ago with his wife.

Dan retired from the State of Rhode Island, Department of Corrections after serving for over 29 years. He was a retired member of the Rhode Island brotherhood of Correctional Officers.

He was formerly a member of the Elks Lodge, Venice, FL.
He was an avid boater and enjoyed driving and traveling. Dan enjoyed cooking, some of his favorites was soups and breakfast.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his two brothers David J. Brown of Attleboro and Robert S. Brown of Cumberland, one grandson Wade Whitman Jr., one niece Danielle Brown and one nephew Robert Brown Jr.

Dan's Life Celebration will be held on Sunday beginning with Visiting Hours from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing on Monday at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Aidan/St. Patrick Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

Due to the COVID-19 guidelines, face masks or coverings are required for entry into the funeral home.
