Corinne E.
Duprey
Mar 16, 1939 — Jul 22, 2025
Pascoag
Corinne E. Duprey (née Corinne Bedard, formerly Corinne Skeldon), 86, of Pacoag, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, love, and warmth.
Corinne was born on March 16, 1939, in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to Aime Bedard and Alice (Bouchard) Bedard. She attended Notre Dame School and married the late Albert Skeldon, Jr. in 1956. Together, they had three sons: Albert W. Skeldon III (Sophie) of Cumberland, the late Steven M. Skeldon, and Michael A. Skeldon (Sonia) of Pascoag. In 1987, she married the late George H. Duprey, Jr., gaining three stepsons—Edward, James, and George Duprey—and three stepdaughters—Marie Weeks, Catherine Page, and Rachel Duprey.
In addition to being a devoted mother, Corinne was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Daniel, Steven Jr., Keri, Matthew, Erik, Jason, Brian, and Madison. Her deep love extended to her fourteen great-grandchildren: Tye, Kylie, Savannah, Amelia, Henry, Oliver, Abby, Chase, Kenzie, Cora, James, Owen, Aubrey, and Walker.
Corinne was the beloved sister of nine brothers and eight sisters. She is survived by Armand Bedard of Woonsocket, Yvette Gagne of Spring Hill, Florida, Arthur Bedard of Glocester, Rita St. Jean (Claude) of Glocester, and Denise Lee (Charles) of Pawtucket. She was predeceased by her sisters Cecile Marginson, Elaine Bedard, Yvette Bedard, Marguerite Bedard, and Marie Bedard, as well as her brothers René Bedard, Joseph Bedard, Leo Paul Bedard, Roger Bedard, Alfred Bedard, Lionel Bedard, and Edward Bedard.
She treasured many deep relationships with family and friends, including her best friend Claire Microulis and her cousins, especially Beatrice Jette. Her door was always open, and you could count on a warm pot of soup or chowder on the stove. She loved playing poker, especially during the annual family game each Thanksgiving. Corinne made handmade Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, filling them each year with thoughtful or silly items that became the highlight of their Christmas Eve. In the warmer months, she could be found tending to her garden beds, spreading color all over the yard. She had a passion for finding bargains at yard sales and enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, if not for vast riches, then for the joy of the experience. If you were getting married or having a baby, a handmade afghan from her would bring warmth into your home.
Her warmth was accompanied by a straightforwardness that never wavered. She was plain-spoken and always offered guidance to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to celebrate Corinne's life during a visitation on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM at J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. A short prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private.
VNA Hospice Care provided immeasurable comfort to Corinne in her final months. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the VNA of Care New England (www.vnacarenewengland.org/ways-to-give) in her memory.
