Cumberland
Claire M. (Marcotte) Goodreau, 94, of Cumberland passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Medore L. Goodreau Jr.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Eva (Levesque) Marcotte. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life, previously residing in Central Falls.
Mrs. Goodreau was employed as a Tax Collector Secretary for the Town of Cumberland for many years until her retirement.
Claire enjoyed singing, playing Bingo, Cards, and Golf. She was a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland, and a member of the Cumberland Senior Center, as well as a member of the Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus, Valley Singers, and the St. Joseph Church Choir. Those who love her will remember her as a true inspiration to everyone she met and brightened them with her beautiful smile. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all.
She leaves her children, Anne Marie Jardin and her husband Alan of Cumberland; David R. Goodreau and his wife Susan of Gorham, New Hampshire; Louis J. Goodreau and his wife Laura of Freedom, NH; her grandchildren, Louis Jardin, Sarah Goodreau and her husband Fred Huergo, David Goodreau, Jennifer Gonzalez and her husband Flavio, Jonathan Goodreau, and Leah Goodreau; her great-granddaughter, Paz Olivia Huergo; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved dog Rosie. She was the sister of the late Edgar Marcotte.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Claire's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 9 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM in the Historic St. Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland.
The family would like to personally thank the *VNA* caregivers for the loving care given to Claire and her family in her final days.
