Claire T. Davenport, 92, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, Briarcliffe Manor Nursing Home, Johnston surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Davenport Jr.

Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Susan (Roy) Brunnelle. Claire was a lifelong Cumberland resident.

Claire had a gentle love for travel and enjoyed exploring new places, especially when shared with those she cared about. Whether it was a short getaway or a special trip, she appreciated the experiences and the memories they created. She treasured time spent with her family and found true joy in simple moments together—gatherings, conversations, and everyday routines that brought them closer. She also valued her friendships deeply, always making time for the people who meant the most to her. Whether sharing a laugh over a drink or catching up over the phone, her friends held a special place in her heart.

She was actively involved in Davenports Restaurant Cumberland, and East Providence, with her son for the past 38 years. Prior to that she was the co-owner of Famous Pizza of Chepachet and past co-owner of Knickerbocker Motor Lines, Pawtucket for many years.

She is survived by her children: Alan Davenport and his wife Kathy of Cumberland; Steven Davenport of Providence; Charles Davenport of Cumberland; and Gregg Davenport and his wife Stephanie of Harrisville. Her sister Susan Eckman and her husband Bob of Lincoln.
Her seven grandchildren: Jason, Justin, Andrew, Katie, Charles Jr., Kyle, and Tyler Davenport. Four great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Vivian Brunnelle, and Helen Havens.

Claire's Life Celebration will be private and held at the convenience of family.
