Charles "Chick" Sweetman, III, 77, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2025, in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Kathleen C. (Roberts) Sweetman.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Irene (Benoit) Sweetman II.

He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

Chick found joy in life's simple pleasures—spending time in the yard, tinkering in the garage, and taking peaceful rides through the back roads. He had a love for fishing, finding calm in the quiet moments by the water. Whether casting a line or simply enjoying the surroundings, it was a pastime that brought him happiness. But above all, he valued his family, who brought him the greatest joy. His love and presence will be deeply missed, but the memories shared will always remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

He was employed as a chemical mixer for the former Osram-Sylvania in Central Falls for more than 20 years, until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Charles "Chicky" Sweetman IV of Cumberland and Amy Strenke of Cumberland; his beloved grandchildren, Jarrod and James Strenke of Cumberland; his brother Tom Sweetman of Melbourne, FL., along with his two nieces and one nephew. He was the brother of the late Richard "Dicky" Sweetman and Paul Sweetman, and his niece Krystal Larochelle.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Chick's Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 11:30 AM.

For relatives and friends who knew Richard "Dicky" Sweetman, there the family will also be remembering him during this time.
