Obituary

Charlene C. Connors, 76, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in the RI Hospital, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Isabelle (Pollock) Rainey. Charlene resided in Cumberland for most of her life, previously residing in Pawtucket.

Mrs. Connors received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island, and her Masters Degree from Providence College. In retirement, she also received her M.Div from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She was an elementary school teacher for the Cumberland School Department for 33 years until her retirement in 2004.

Charlene's faith was a cornerstone in her life, and she enjoyed teaching Bible studies with her group of friends. She also enjoyed the outdoors, daily walks, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Daniel P. Connors and his wife Meghan of Cranston and their children Lily and Charlotte, Michael Connors and his wife Michele of Cumberland and their children, Tatum, McKenna, and Mikey Jr.; her two sisters, Nancy Salisbury of New Hampshire and Barbara Kiernan of South Carolina; along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lois Jackson of Cumberland.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Charlene's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM in the J J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. A prayer service will be celebrated at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private.
