Carol LaVault, born July 20th, 1940, recently of Medway MA, but formerly of Cumberland, RI for nearly 50 years as well as Westport, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, at the age of 84, surrounded by family.

Carol lived her life giving to others, and only in recent years refrained from her ever-present volunteering roles throughout Cumberland. As Chairman of Cumberland School Volunteers for many years, Carol was recognized for her community involvement by being honored with the Town of Cumberland "Citizen of the Year" award during her volunteering days. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, there wasn't a single thing that Carol would not do for those that she loved.

Carol loved to cook meals for not only her family, but others as well. She was never satisfied unless she was also feeding the people that had the opportunity to know her well. She was an avid knitter and would knit various items for people throughout the years just because she enjoyed the act of giving. From mittens and slippers for shelters, to scarfs for friends, to full sized afghans for her children and their friends….someone always was receiving a homemade gift at one point or another from Carol.

Aside from giving to others, Carol's family was the most important thing in her life. Her two sons meant more to her than her own life, and she always made that clear to them in her words and actions. She often declared that she couldn't live in a world without them.

Carol enjoyed spending summers relaxing in Westport, MA with her husband and family, while entertaining and cooking for everyone, and enjoying life to the fullest whenever she could.

Carol leaves behind her husband of 56 years Roch LaVault of Medway MA/Cumberland RI, her son Randy LaVault and his partner Lea Grady and stepson Tyler Walsh of Merrimack NH, her son Ronald LaVault and spouse Kristin LaVault of Southborough MA, and her beloved grandchildren Kaylin LaVault and Ryan LaVault of Southborough MA.

In lieu of formal services at this time, the family will plan a remembrance celebration for Carol at a future date.
