Carlos M. Dias, 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. He was the husband of Maria G. (Simao) Dias. They have been married for the past 49 years.

Born in Guarda, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose L. and Maria Do Ceu (Saraiva) Dias. Carlos came to this country in 1975, settling in Pawtucket.

He was an avid Benfica fan. Carlos was a handyman and enjoyed building things. He spent countless hours with his daughter Lori  building and creating many projects. His garden was like no other, everything he planted flourished, he had a green thumb, and he often enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family. He also enjoyed working on cars, traveling, and being outdoors, but most of all his favorite past time was always spent with his family.

He was a machine operator for Ecological Fiber, Pawtucket for more than 35 years until his retirement.

Besides his wife he is survived by his two children: Carlos S. Dias and his wife Elizabeth of Cumberland, and Lori S. Dias of Pawtucket. One grand-daughter Katheryn E. Dias. His three brothers: Fausto Dias, Joaquim Dias, and Joao Dias all of Paris, France.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Carlos' Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 5 PM to 8 PM and continuing on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the Church of St. Theresa Child of Jesus, 358 Newport Avenue Pawtucket, RI. Burial will be private.
