CUMBERLAND

Candido B. Neves, 90, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Lincoln.  He was the husband of the late Maria L. Neves.

Born in Viseu, Portugal, he was the son the late Antonio and Antonia Neves. He came to this country in August of 1976, setting in Pawtucket.  He later moved to Cumberland in 2009.

Mr. Neves was employed by Murdock Webbing for many years.  He later worked for Briggs Ltd. and JC Penny as a tailor.

Candido was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  He enjoyed trips to Portugal to visit family in the summer.  He was a loyal and dedicated Benfica fan.

He leaves his son, Jorge Neves and his wife Donna of Cranston, Jose Neves and his wife Elizabeth of Cumberland and Fernando Neves and his wife Isabel of Cumberland;  his sister Lidia Cabral of East Providence and  his brother, Manuel Neves of Portugal; his six grandchildren, Allison, Kaitlyn, Briana, Nicholas, Cristian, and Gabriela.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Candido's Life Celebration to a Mass of Christian Burial  on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.
