Obituary

Bronislaw J. "Bruno" Wrzesien, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, at home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Born in Kazimierza Wielka, Poland, he was the son of the late Wladyslaw and Janina (Gregorczyk) Wrzesien. In 1986, Bruno embarked on a new chapter when he came to the United States, planting his roots in Rhode Island.

Known affectionately—and often famously—as "Bruno," he lived life with a bold spirit and a presence that no one ever forgot. With his strong-willed personality, it was well known that things were done his way or no way. He enjoyed hunting, boating, and especially gardening. Bruno took great pride in growing fresh fruits and vegetables, tending to his plants with the same care and devotion he gave his family. Sharing the bounty from his garden brought him joy, and those who loved him will forever remember the taste of his home-grown harvest.

Bruno spent many years as a welder in Poland before bringing his unwavering work ethic to the United States, where he worked as a mechanic at Kirkbrae Country Club and Elizabeth Webbing.

In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves two children: Tomasz Wrzesien and his wife Agnieszka of Hope Valley, RI, and Margaret Bubis and her fiancé Douglas Souza of Hope, RI; his cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Tommy, Gabby, Nicholas, and Patricia; his siblings, Wieslawa Lakota of Rehoboth, MA, and Zofia Kurczyna and Waclaw Wrzesien, both of Poland; as well as several nieces and nephews who will hold his memory close.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bruno's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 6–8 PM, and continuing on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, High Street, Central Falls. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
