Beverly J. Shifflet, 79, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family in the Philip Hulitar, Hope Hospice Center, Providence.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Lopes) McDonough. Beverly resided in Lincoln for most of her life, previously residing in Cumberland.
She loved the beach, going to Newport. She enjoyed tending to her plants and garden, but most of all spending time with her family.
She was a member of the Lincoln Senior Center, where she would attend various events and activities. Bev brought sunshine to everyone's life prompting family and friends to nickname her "sunshine".
She was a devout Christian and faithful member of the Christian Life Center, Assembly of God, Central Falls.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant, employed New Horizon's Adult Day Care Center, Pawtucket until her retirement, she was previously employed by Visiting Nurse Service of Pawtucket, Cumberland, and Central Falls.
Bev received the CNA of the year award on multiple occasions, and she also specialized in Dementia and Hospice Care. She was a very loving and compassionate nurse to her patients and family.
She is survived by her children: Lynne M. Lemieux and her husband Bob of Cumberland; Robert R. Shifflet and his wife Sandy of Woonsocket; and David S. Shifflet of Pawtucket. Her two brothers John McDonough of Ft. Meyers, FL; and Robert McDonough of Port Charlotte, FL. Six grandchildren: Robert P. Lemieux, Jessica Mattera, David Shifflet, Benjamin Shifflet, Sarah Shifflet, and Hannah Shifflet. Four great-grandchildren who were the loves of her life, along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Barbara Tyrrell.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bev's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing on Friday, March 15, 2024, with a Prayer Service at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will be private.
