Bernadette M. (Costa) Silva 85, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Denis Silva they had been married for 67 years prior to his passing in 2024.

Born in Faial, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Laura Costa, Bernadette was the youngest of 11 siblings.Bernadette found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She loved cooking especially hosting Sunday lunches with her family. She also loved tending to her garden, and traveling the world alongside her beloved husband, Denis and their friends. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her cherished great-grandchildren Camila and Kaia.

Bernadette was the mother of the late Urania Pereira, she is survived by her grandchildren: Derek Pereira and his wife Tara of Coventry, Kevin Pereira and his girlfriend Stephanie Morico of Lincoln. Her two great-grand daughters: Camila and Kaia Pereira. Also survived by her son in law Manuel Pereira, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bernadette's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Thursday May 7, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM and continuing on Friday May 8, 2026 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
