PAWTUCKET

TEIXEIRA, Barbara B., 80, of Pawtucket, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Teixeira.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Beatrice (Larocque) Gendron. She resided in Pawtucket for most of her life, previously residing in Central Falls.

Mrs. Teixeira was employed as a Secretary for the Pawtucket Health Center for many years. She later was employed as the secretary for the Finance Director of the City of Pawtucket. She was also a licensed massage therapist, specializing in Shiatsu Massage practicing in her office on the east side of Providence.

Barbara enjoyed painting and drawing, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She leaves her children, Joseph A. Teixeira of Massachusetts and Mark S. Teixeira of Lincoln; her siblings, Antonio Gendron of Florida, George Gendron of North Attleboro, Frank Gendron of Maine, Anna Rodrigues of Providence, any Yvonne Bell of Smithfield; one granddaughter, Jocelyn Teixeira; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rita Bannon and Norma Beauregard.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Barbara's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 10 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
