Barbara Anne Hansen

Barbara Anne Hansen, 83, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Albert W. Hansen.

Born in Attleboro, she was the daughter of the late Ensi Rintala and Andrew Sadlier.  She resided in Attleboro since 1996, previously residing in Cumberland and Walpole, MA.  She was a graduate of Bay View Academy in Riverside, RI.

She was a devoted mother to William S. Hansen of Redondo Beach, California, Todd A. Hansen of Millville, Pennsylvania, and Scott R. Hansen of Attleboro, Massachusetts. Barbara's greatest joy came from her role as "Grandma," treasuring every moment with her grandchildren: Nathan Hansen, Kai Hansen, Chloe Hansen, and Rayleigh H. Winemiller. She was predeceased by her dear grandchild, Trevor Hansen.

Barbara had a long and fulfilling career as a Financial Analyst with Pearson Education Inc., where she worked for 24 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a dedicated professional known for her meticulous work and strong work ethic.

Outside of her professional life, Barbara was an avid reader and active member of the Cumberland Monastery Book Club and the Highland Book Club. She also enjoyed golfing and was a former member of Highland Country Club and Chemawa Golf Club. Her passions reflected her love for learning, family and meaningful connections.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Barbara's Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 9 AM to 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A prayer service will be held at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 12221 Merit Drive #1950, Dallas, TX 75251.
