Obituary

WOONSOCKET

Armand O. Methot, Jr., 76, of Woonsocket, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Beauparlant) Methot, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Armand O. and Justine (Grenon) Methot. Armand was a lifelong resident of the city he proudly called home.

Mr. Methot honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Hawaii.

He was employed as a mail handler with the United States Postal Service for 40 years prior to his retirement.

Armand was a member of the St. Joseph Veterans Association, where he enjoyed participating in the Wednesday night card league, and he especially cherished playing cards with his sister Jeanne. He found great comfort in the simple pleasures of life, often relaxing in his recliner at the end of the day while watching Wheel of Fortune. A devoted and passionate fan of the Cincinnati Reds, he also enjoyed following a wide variety of sporting events. He had a fondness for scratch tickets and was known for his easygoing nature—never complaining, always making friends wherever he went. Above all, Armand cherished his family and took great pride in spending time with them, especially in his role as a loving "Pup Pup."

In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Keith Methot and his wife Tracey of Cumberland, and Cory A. Methot of Woonsocket; his three grandchildren, Tatum, Kaleigh, and Keagan; his sisters, Jeanne Shear, Joanne Brownlee, and Annette Nutting, all of Woonsocket; as well as several nieces and a nephew. He was the brother of the late Dennis Methot.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Armand's Life Celebration to begin with Visitation on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 1 PM. Burial with military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Joseph Veteran Association, 99 Louise St, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
