CUMBERLAND

Antonio "Tonito" A. Loureiro, 89, of Cumberland passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 10, 2025 at home. He was the husband of Maria Lurdes Martins Vaz Loureiro and they had been married for the past 65 years.

Born in Esmolfe, Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joao and Maria (Pinto) Loureiro.  He moved to this country in 1969, settling in to Cumberland.

Mr. Loureiro was employed as Shipping Clerk for the Northeast Cable Company for 40 years until his retirement.

Tonito, as he was affectionately known, was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  He enjoyed landscaping in his yard, trips to the beach, spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a dedicated and passionate Sporting Soccer Club fan.

In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Maria da Conceicao Loureiro of Cumberland, Isabel Rodrigues of Cumberland, Lidia Gauthier (Edward R. Gauthier Sr.) of Cumberland, Antonio Loureiro of Brasil; his siblings, Maria Alice Loureiro of Portugal, Jorge Loureiro of Cumberland, Joao Loureiro of Portugal and Joaquim Loureiro of Portugal; his grandchildren Anthony Loureiro (Crystal Ferrucci), Tanya McKenna (Nicholas McKenna), Edward R. Gauthier Jr. (Tasi Rittling), Bethany H. Gauthier (Domenico Dickenson), Nathan Gauthier, Roberto R. Rodrigues (Jennifer Lopez), Victoria I. Rodrigues, Katarini Loureiro, and Augusto Loureiro; his great-grandchildren, Leah Vagnini-Gauthier and Mason McKenna; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Antonio's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
